Funding

  1. Doctoral students are provided a full funding package of $30,600, tuition, fees, and health insurance for 6 years, contingent upon satisfactory progress. In years one and five students will be on full fellowship (no teaching duties) receiving monthly stipends from August 1 through May 1, and summer support on June 1. In years two, three, and four, the $30,600 annual funding will be comprised of fellowship, teaching assistant wages, and summer support.
  2. Summer teaching is also available.
  3. Any graduate student in an Arts & Sciences department who has advanced to doctoral candidacy during the current academic year, or who has a faculty-endorsed plan for achieving candidacy prior to the Fellowship period, is eligible to apply for a Jefferson Fellowship in the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences.
